Can I get a used car loan?

February 8th, 2010

I just turned 18 last week. I have been driving a 1988 Ford Escort for a year and a half. I paid $500 for this car so I am not sure if it is even applicaple for a trade in. I think it is time to upgrade before i get stuck on the side of the road. I would like to purchase a 1999-2000 Jeep Cherokee. This vehicle cost about $7000. I would be able to put down $1500 for a down payment. The problem that i keep encountering is my work history. I have had the same job for 1 year and 8 months most lenders expect you to have a job for at least 2 years. I am not sure if i Can get a loan or not. I have tried credit unions a couple of weeks ago and they said i have to wait until i am 18, so now i am 18 and am applying again. Do you think my credit score would be a factor? I am not sure what it is because i am young. Any Comments would be greatly appreciated.
I would be able to make the payments. I have a decent job, I make $1000 a month and I do not have to pay rent or anyting like that. The only thing that I do pay is a cell phone bill. Thank you for the speedy response

You may not be able to without a cosigner becaue you don’t have establised credit yet. The bigger problem is that you will most likely not be able to get a loan for 7k on a 8 year old car…if you do the interest rate woud be much higher than getting a newer car. The factor to take into account is that the longest loan term you could get for an 8 year old car is 2 or maybe 3 years…so you are looking at a payment of probably $200/month (for a 36 month loan at 9% apy…which is probably low considering no credit history) can you afford that?

You need to do more research and try to find a newer vehicle (I am not saying brand new because they depriciate 40% after you drive off the lot and you are then upside down in the loan).

PS $1000/month means you can only afford about $150/month for a car payment.

I have a recent foreclosure and bad credit on car loan can I still get financing for a motorcycle and where?

You can get car financing. It’s going to cost you more, though. Do some shopping.

Try Loan-Com.info. They have hundreds of different offers specializing in bad credit loans. They have some pretty good offers available there with good terms.

Car Loan For Private Seller. Great Credit Score. Best Place To Get A Loan for $6,800.?

February 8th, 2010

My sister has really good credit, either on the very good side or excellent. She wants to take out a loan for a car bought from a private seller. She only needs a loan for about $6,800. What are some great places to get a loan from? And about how long does it take to get approved and get the funds?

If she’s not already, get her to join a local credit union. they have the best loan rates. it can take a little extra effort to get a membership, but it’s possible. Mine’s the best, way better than a bank!

Is it better to get a loan from car dealer or your own bank when buying a car?

February 8th, 2010

im looking to buy a newer car this summer and want to know if i would be better off just getting a loan from my own bank or does it really even matter.

Your best approach is to do three things:

1) Apply at your own bank or credit union

2) Apply to a lender resource like lending tree (www.lendingtree.com) – they shop your loan to several bansk and will get your up to 4 approvals.

3) Take the best approval from your bank, or Lending Tree, and go to the dealer. Tell them up front that you have your own financing arranged. They will offer to meet or beat your best approval. If they can, let them and everyone wins. If they cannot, then you already have the best deal in your pocket.

Doing this will accomplish a couple of things. It will give you your budget up front so that you are shopping for a car in the right price range. It will allow you to focus on the top-line price of the car, and not the payments. Since you already know that $X will be $Y per month, you dont get trapped into concentrating on the payment – you can concentrate on the price of the car.

Since dealers make commission from banks on the loans they sell, they are far more eager to finance the car themselves as opposed to your bank. So, they will work a littl eharder to earn your business on both the car and the finance contract.

As a side note to DaKing – I wonder how you can claim to be a wholesaler when you are borderline illiterate….

Can I get a car loan with a 636 credit score?

February 6th, 2010

This would be my second car loan, but this time I’m trying to purchase a new car instead of a used one.

Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Global Report-10-April-2009

February 5th, 2010

http://www.instablogs.com/
Mexico drug war spills into Central America

Mexican drug traffickers, operating in Guatemala’s borders with other Central American countries, are transferring to avoid harsh crackdown posed by the Mexican government. Mexican drug cartels, the most powerful in the region, have entered Guatemala to take full control of the business, from drug production to transportation and final sales. A sharp increase in drug gang violence between members of local and Mexican cartels has been noted not only on the border of mexico and guatemala, but throughout the country.

TATA Nano booking begins

This is extremely good news for the Indian middle class long waiting to graduate from their despicable two wheel drive to a four wheeled one. Various banks handling the financing for the car have added to the sense of happiness by lowering the income eligibility criterion for the car loan from Rs 100,000-Rs 75,000 a year even when they expect a surge in bad loans. This means a person earning Rs 6,250 a month or a little over Rs 200 a day can now seek finance to buy the car. This was something unimaginable a few years back. Happiness apart, one also shudders to think about the resultant rise in road traffic. Imagine nearly 500,000 new cars taking to the roads within just one year in a country whose infrastructure has always failed to keep pace with the expanding traffic.
